Windrush Family and Friends UK organise charity 5k
London UK, Monday 22nd June 2020 – Against the backdrop of the ongoing challenges of a global health crisis, a UK based social impact community are working hard to support charities directly involved in the crucial care of children in need, across Jamaica.
Windrush Family & Friends UK support local charities based in Jamaica, to get desperately needed financial support for children’s homes, with an aim of making a difference today. The group have recently announced their latest fundraising initiative “Baby Don’t Worry About A thing”, which is focused on refurbishing the Baby Room at Glenhope Nursery Richmond Park Kingston, Jamaica.
The nursery is an established home providing much needed care for 50 babies and toddlers who have been abandoned, neglected, disabled, abused or orphaned. The nursery provides a place of safety and security where babies and children can begin to thrive under the protection of the dedicated staff. A refurbishment of the Baby Room will help the nursery to continue to care for babies in the best environment possible.
The “Baby Don’t Worry About A Thing’ sponsored walking event with take place on the 4th July 2020, with participants across the UK walking up to 5K walk with groups of up to 4 people. Entry fee is £5 and all proceeds go towards the overall target of £1500 for the refurbishment. To get involved, please visit https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/walkathon
Windrush Family and Friends UK are always looking to build on the positive support needed to make a real difference, whether that is through financial support, help organising and running events or simply as advocates for good.
