Our main fundraiser, the Annual International Bazaar, was a colourful, exciting event!
One could sample wine from Argentina or California, beer from Germany or Cuba, sausages from South Africa or Hot Dogs from the USA, souvenirs and gifts from Russia, China, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria or India, or even some Dead Sea cosmetics from Israel, and this is just a small sample of what was on offer on the day. Booths were held by the embassies and high commissions of Argentina, Brazil, China, Cuba, Germany, India, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, USA, and Jamaica. The South Korean Embassy ran the Children’s Corner with fun activities for the kids. Children from two children’s homes were invited to enjoy the Bazaar with the IPP ladies. IPP is deeply grateful to the diplomats who contributed their time and efforts to make this Bazaar a sweeping success!
Other booths in the Bazaar included White Elephant, Tombola, and Raffle.
Entertainment items were also flowing throughout the day, with Philip Supersad and the Aquaba drumming band, Charmaine Lemonious with her heavenly voice, the children of Nishida Gymnastics School, the girls of Desi’s Dance Theatre, Seretse and Di Blue Print Band, Dennis Eckhart and his Capoeira Group and Stewart Maxwell with a Tai Chi demonstration. Music from around the world was played by DJ Omar C., and the ever so charming Heather Grant emceed it all. All entertainers contributed their time and expertise free of charge, for which IPP is again deeply grateful.
Excitement peaked when IPP’s most famous past-recipient, Shelly-Ann Fraser-
Pryce, Olympic gold medalist, made an appearance, gave autographs and let everyone take pictures with her!
All funds raised on the day will be used to assist excelling secondary and elementary students in need and IPP sponsored children’s homes and basic schools.
We are most grateful to our sponsors. We thank you so much for your support!
